What a year it has been so far!

Hello Barc Family,

Who can believe we are halfway through 2019 already?! Where has the time gone! It’s been a great few months for the team here and with the launch of our brand new website going down a storm, our first ever BARC event giving us a taste of what we hope will become a more regular occurrence, and having the pleasure of participating in our first Pop Up store with the wonderful Wild at Heart Foundation, we thought we’d take the time to look back on all these magical experiences and share how they came to life…

An Afternoon Tea with BARC, at Browns Hotel

Grab the Pawsecco, we’re celebrating! Following the launch of our Signature Stripe fabric range and our gorgeous new website, we recently hosted our first ever event with Aimazin Events and we could not be happier about it! An Afternoon Tea with BARC took place at Brown’s Hotel in Mayfair, London, on June 28th.

When we were approached by Aimee, owner of Aimazin Events, asking if we would like to collaborate on an event, it was impossible to say no! With a shared love of luxury and style, we knew that this would be the event of our dreams… and it was. Together, with a lot of thought and planning, we hosted the most glamorous event possible – every element meticulously chosen until absolutely perfect, with intricate detailing for both the guests and their dogs. Of course, it was vital to find the right location; somewhere elegant and classic, whilst still being able to cater for the most important guests, the dogs! Brown’s Hotel fit this perfectly; a dog friendly hotel with a central London location and stunning function rooms, giving us the ideal place for our event. As for décor, no detail was overlooked; BARC collars placed on napkins for individual table decorations and the most incredible flower arrangements provided by Cupid Creative, featuring a giant centrepiece of a dog made out of flowers! The most delightful afternoon tea was provided to us by Brown’s Hotel, with Butternut Box catering fresh food for all of our four-legged friends.

As this event, and our brand, would not be possible without our dogs, we focused our attention on making sure the pups had a wonderful day too. We built a custom ball pit for the dogs to play in… and the girls were more than happy to jump in too!  As well as this, we have to thank Ivy & Duke for supplying dog beds for the day; we know that they definitely appreciated it! And as a little thank you, to both the guests and their dogs, everybody was gifted with luxe gift bags, including premium products from Woof & Brew, Green & Wilds, Paw Buddy, Bondi Wash Dogs and Love My Human.

Despite all of the organisation, we were still full of anticipation for the event – how would 20 dogs and 20 humans react together all in one room? With the help of Aimee, the day ran smoothly all the way through, with every guest fully enjoying their experience at our first event. Due to the number of dogs we had in one room, safety was of utmost importance, so in order to keep all the dogs calm and safe we had the help of Believe In Magic Dog Training whose brilliant work kept the day running smoothly. Working alongside us were our three photographers: Manos Photo by Manos Koukakis, Daisy Denham and Kobe Visuals by Jake Hughes, whose amazing work captured the event in faultless style (imagery from the event can be seen below).

Overall the day was a dream, but we are not done yet!

As this was a private event, we wanted our second to be open to everybody. We were honoured to be invited to take part in Wild at Heart Foundation’s first ever Pop Up store - I Believe In Dog, The Pop Up. Situated in the heart of London, at Covent Gardens Seven Dials, the girls transformed an empty space into a ‘Compassionate shopping experience for dog lovers in the city’ and it was truly beautiful. With proceeds from all merchandise and events funding their work to end the suffering of stray dogs all over the world, it was not to be missed.

On Sunday 23rd June, we joined the wonderful Maggie the Wunderdog and Emily Hunt with her gorgeous foster pup Bella, to take part in the charities free ‘Meet and Greet the influencers: Learn how to build your online presence’ event. It was a truly touching morning, and we had the pleasure of meeting some beautiful souls of the two and four-legged variety!

Hearing both Maggie and Bella’s stories was heart-breaking, and to know so many dogs are going through similar situations around the world doesn’t bare thinking about. It made being part of this event so much more special knowing there are people, like Nikki and the team, carrying out the amazing work that they do so well. We are so passionate about being able to help in some small way, and we are over the moon to announce that we will be working closely with The Wild at Heart Foundation in the near future.

'Our besties Herbie and Dave (IG @herbieanddave) popped in to say hello, along with the adorable Sammy, a two year old adoptee loving life with his new mumma Sandra. We also had the pleasure of meeting Enzo and his momma (IG @vincenzopepito) who were visiting from San Fran!'

'Realising we could learn a lot from dogs - Bella was thrown from a two story building whilst pregnant and broke both her front legs, whilst Maggie was shot in the face 17 times as target practice - and yet, after everything they have been through, they both had so much affection to give to everyone and just wanted to share the love 🖤

As always, we want to thank every single one of you who has purchased, followed, read and supported our brand and The Wild at Heart Foundation. We are always trying to give back to those who matter most - both our dogs, and our customers - so, to keep momentum flowing, we are in the middle of planning our next open event for more fun and games in the sunshine! Keep your eyes peeled for the release, we’d love to see your gorgeous faces there!!

All our love and thanks,

The BARC team
