Tips for keeping your four-legged friend entertained this Easter.
As with many of us right now, we're all getting a little fed up with being inside… we know our dogs are too. Whilst this may seem totally unnatural, sometimes a pup’s gotta do what a pup's gotta do, and there are definitely ways around the boredom. That’s why we have put together 10 different ways to keep you and your four-legged friends entertained at home, whilst also making the most of the glorious sunshine.
1. EASTER EGG HUNT
To get into the Easter spirit, hide your pup’s favourite treats around your home and garden and let them go wild trying to find them all. Maybe even hide a BARC ball as the grand prize?
2. BUILD A DOGGY DEN
Don’t we all just want to hide away in a pillow fort right now? Whilst that might not always be possible for us humans, let your pup be the King/Queen of the castle in their own puppy pillow den.
3. TEACH YOUR DOG NEW TRICKS
With all this time on our hands, now is the perfect time to teach your pup a new trick. Make the most of YouTube and the endless online resources to impress all your puppy pals at the park… when we are allowed out of course.
4. BECOME A DOG GROOMER FOR THE DAY
Nothing feels better than a fresh blow-dry, so why not treat your pup to a luxurious wash and shampoo? We recommend Bondi Wash Dogs shampoo or Dorwest Herbs Oatmeal Advance shampoo for pups with sensitive skin.
- Make sure you're washing thoroughly
- Pat dry your pup's coat and brush it through
- Blow-dry the hair in small sections, from the root upwards for an extra fluffy finish
- Be sure to use the cools setting on the hairdryer

5. GO ON AN EXTRA LONG WALK
Make the most of your one form of outdoor exercise a day and treat your pup the long walk that they love. Not only will you get some much needed fresh air, but you’ll tire your pup out in the process!
6. PLAY THEIR FAVOURITE GAME
Play their favourite game: Make that tail wag with a game of tug or fetch. Nothing is better than a happy pup!
7. DIY SOME HEALTHY TREATS
With so many online recipes, there is no better way to spend an afternoon than by doing some baking. Fed up of making cakes? Treat your pup to some homemade healthy snacks, such as Peanut Butter Pupsicles.
- Simply freeze some small sticks of peanut butter for a cool and tasty treat they will love.
8. VIRTUAL PUPPY PLAY DATE
Since we aren’t allowed to meet our friends in real life, why not FaceTime your pup’s best pal? A great way to remain social in these surreal circumstances.
9. OWN THE CATWALK
In times of boredom, we often find ourselves going through our wardrobe and reminiscing over our favourite outfits. Why not try out all your pup’s BARC pieces and host a mini photoshoot in your garden. Send us your pics, we love to see them!
10. PUPFLIX AND CHILL
After a long day at home doing nothing, there is no better way to spend an evening than snuggles on the sofa with your four-legged friend. A simple yet classic way to spend some quality time with your best friend.
